The world is more interconnected than ever. As global citizens, the opportunity to support others has increased exponentially. Your partnership enables World Vision to provide immediate care, and also seek long-term solutions by working with local communities and government in regions affected by conflict.

Like many others in Batangafo, Brigitte lives in a makeshift camp, worrying for her children’s safety as warring militia control the surrounding countryside less than 2km away. Trapped in an endless circle of tension and chaos, she worries where her family’s next meal will come from as the crisis in C.A.R. remains critically underfunded.

The world’s most neglected emergency is unfolding in C.A.R.

World Vision's Raw Hope initiative supports families and others who live in the world's most dangerous places.

Your monthly or one-time donation will help:

  • provide lifesaving essentials such as nutritious food, clean water, sanitation, shelter and basic household items

  • distribute medicine and healthcare

  • create safe places for children to learn and play

  • provide services and programs to prevent sexual violence and abuse, and support survivors

  • build long-term solutions to help make high-risk regions more secure and resilient

Your Raw Hope gift ensures we can help bring immediate relief to children and their families and work toward long-term solutions in countries that are too unstable for child sponsorship to be established.

Where is my money going?

Raw Hope works in the most unstable areas of the world to provide protection and a chance of survival for the most vulnerable children and families.

Your Raw Hope donation will help supply immediate essentials like food, healthcare, education and access to clean water. Donations are also used for long term solutions that help build the resilience of families in unstable countries. Raw Hope works in Iraq, Afghanistan, eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, Pakistan, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Central African Republic and Syria.

Why can't I sponsor a child in these areas?

Raw Hope works in the most dangerous places where it is difficult and inefficient to establish child sponsorship programs. Before Raw Hope, World Vision had to rely on intermittent sources of funding which made it difficult to reach and support those most in need.

Am I able to select which country my donations will go to?

To be flexible and maximize impact, Raw Hope program experts use your monthly donations where most needed in any of the countries Raw Hope works in.

What will I receive as a monthly Raw Hope donor?

Every Raw Hope monthly partner receives a quarterly email with project updates and news on the impact made in the lives of vulnerable children and families.

Central African Republic, a country many don’t even know exists.  It’s here that fighting armed groups take land by violently attacking villages, killing people, burning farms and recruiting children to join their forces. Now controlling more than two thirds of the country, these groups threaten to drag the C.A.R. into full blown war.

Those who’ve fled the conflict total more than
1.1 million with more than half of those being displaced internally. 600,000 are stuck in camps in the few areas peacekeepers have managed to secure. There they live on measly food rations because the response in C.A.R. is critically underfunded.

World Vision has been responding to the crisis since 2014 by providing emergency food, establishing child-friendly spaces and providing healthcare support to mothers and children. In 2017 we reached 700,000 crisis-affected people.

However, the situation in C.A.R. is not like other emergencies. It’s a longstanding forgotten crisis and for any stability to occur, programs that tackle the root causes of conflict are required.  In 2017, World Vision demobilized
5,360 children from armed groups who are now peace promoters for their community.

But we need your help to reach more children
